Year 4&5 have been involved in a campaign to try and convince Mr. Jacey to install a yellow recycling bin in the playground for Calpe School pupils to start recycling plastic. They wrote persuasive letters and took part in a debate with him over the key issues. Mr. Jacey agreed to a trial period of one week. This meant that Year 4&5 had to devise a clear and informative speech to deliver to the other classes and a range of posters to place around the school so that all pupils would understand the importance of recycling plastic and what items should be placed in the yellow bin.
The trial period has passed and Mr. Jacey has agreed to keep the yellow bin in the playground! This campaign has been a fantastic success and Calpe School is now a plastic recycling zone!
